Plus you may even get the option of an added ice cream as your treat for moving those legs.

Dawlish Warren Nature Reserve Walk
Length of walk: 3.3 miles
For guests looking for more than a beach walk, Dawlish Warren Nature Reserve is often overlooked, yet it offers an ideal place to stretch those legs whilst taking in one of South Devon’s most important coastal landscapes. Think sand dunes, meandering paths, boardwalks, the sounds of nature and stunning estuary views…you wouldn’t want any other walks in South Devon.
This is a quieter option than taking the main beach route and there are many opportunities to spot an abundance of wildlife, from wading birds such as oyster catchers and curlews through to busy bees, butterflies and dragonflies in the warmer months that enjoy the flowering hedgerows. You may even be lucky enough to spot a seal around the mouth of the estuary.
Dawlish Warren to Starcross Walk
Length of walk: 6 miles
This is a must for guests staying at Hazelwood Holiday Park and looking for a relatively easy route, yet still with the beautiful scenery that the Exe Estuary Trail has to offer. You’re looking at approximately 1.5-2 hours to complete the whole South Devon walk and you’ll be pleased to know it’s mostly flat with well-surfaced tarmac and paved paths and therefore suitable for most walkers and pushchairs, so bring the whole family along.
The estuary brings with it a wealth of wildlife known for its dunes, mudflats and migratory birds. If you’re a wildlife lover and wish to spend your time spotting then rather than walking you can hop on the train from Starcross to Dawlish Warren but do check times. Alternatively, in the Summer months you can use the Starcross-Exmouth ferry to cross the water.
Dawlish Warren to Exmouth Walk
Length of walk: 4.5 miles
This walk is one of the longer wallks, although the flat terrain means that it's suitable for walkers and cyclists wanting to enjoy the fabulous scenery that the Exe Estuary offers. Walks in South Devon don’t get much better than this.
Begin the walk from the dune, then follow the estuary-side path toward the village of Cockwood, where there is an ideal opportunity to stop for pictures in front of the harbourside.
You can extend the walk by taking the seasonal ferry across the estuary to Exmouth, turning this into a more complete day walk or full itinerary from Dawlish Warren. The crossing typically runs from April to October, with sailings dependent on tides and weather, so it's worth checking current ferry times before you set off. Once across, Exmouth's seafront offers plenty of choice for a lunch spot before you make your way back.
Dawlish to Teignmouth Coastal Walk

This walk takes a different stretch of coast compared to the other South Devon walks explained above. Covering approximately 3.5 miles, it’s suitable for most abilities and ages. This stretch covers a section of the South West Coast Path which means you can expect stunning seaviews, red cliffs, and views of the South Devon Railway.
Start off in Dawlish itself and follow the South Devon Railway Sea Wall for most of it, before a short climb around the quaint village of Holcombe with its thatched cottages before the path drops back down to Teignmouth to seek out a coffee shop.
