Options for all levels of ability are included in our guide, after all, holidays are meant to be fun for everyone and are a great time to try something new and discover a hidden talent. We have selected a wide range of golf facilities, from small, family friendly, dog friendly, casual courses to country clubs with spa’s and afternoon tea’s.

Our Closest Course – 18 Hole Links Course

The beautiful Devon Wildlife Trust nature reserve surrounds Warren Golf Club – a superb golf course with clubhouse facilities where visitors are welcome any time. Have a look at this video of the course . Located on the spit of land at the opening of the Exe estuary, it’s a suitable challenge for golfers of all levels where breathtakingly memorable views from 18 of the finest greens in the South West can be experienced. The Warren is a true links course and the sandy nature of the terrain means it very rarely closes.

9 ‘proper’ Hole – Parkland Course

Having fantastic views of the Exe Estuary the wonderful scenery rivals any golf course in the Devon area. Situated amongst more than 55 acres of premium Devon countryside, it has a natural spring feeding it’s two lakes.The free draining soil means that this golf course, like the one in Dawlish Warren, is likely to still be open when some others aren’t.

The 18 tee, 9 hole, par 66 courses has undulating fairways, providing over 5000 yards of exhilarating golf, yet suitable for a wide range of abilities from beginners to low handicappers. The Centre includes a 16 bay floodlit covered driving range (2 bays outdoors), fully stocked pro-shop, licensed bar and restaurant, changing rooms and clubs for hire. Professional golf lessons are available for all ages and levels of players.

Located within 5 minutes drive of Exeter and the M5 junction 30 (see map).

9 Hole – Pitch & Put

This is a nearby family and dog friendly golf course in Starcross welcoming everyone regardless of experience. No handicap is necessary and golf shoes are not required, so it’s no problem if you didn’t bring any golf gear on holiday. You may dress in casual trousers, shorts or jeans, collared tee shirts and trainers. Golf clubs and trolleys are also available to hire at very reasonable rates.

The 9 hole course is small but surprisingly challenging, including some well placed hazards such as a river, a pond, several sand traps and ditches which all add interest!

Well behaved dogs are welcome as long as owners clean up after them.

18 Hole – Parkland Course

The par 69, over 6000 yard layout, in 120 acres of parkland this course is a test for all abilities from beginners to golfers with a low handicap. Elegantly situated, dotted with mature trees, water features, sculpted bunkers, perfectly manicured fairways and pleasant greens it also benefitting from excellent drainage. Boasting the best indoor golf studio in the South West, a state of the art simulator and coaching experience. It’s a comfortable for a groups of four. Play a four-ball on one of six courses around the world, whilst being brought drinks and snacks.

The country club has many other facilities to enjoy, including the award winning spa, restaurant serving afternoon tea and Sunday lunch etc, and sports facilities including a gym and swimming pool.

Featuring two golf courses, a fitness centre and spa and restaurant (offering a good selection of afternoon teas), pro shop and golf lessons.

The Oaks, arguably one of the most picturesque golf courses in Devon with over 7300 yards of stunning parkland with rolling fairways, stunning lakes, European standard greens and an 18 hole par 73.

The Acorns golf course is a beautifully contoured 9 hole par 32, 2308 yard golf course, again with amazing views. Perfect for golfers without a handicap or looking for an easier, but no less of a test than The Oaks golf course. The tricky green side bunkers, large undulating greens and second hole, this challenging golf course offers something for every golfer. Non-members are eligible for a reduced green fee with a free Player Card. You can book a tee time online.

18 hole – Cliff Edge Moorland Links Course

The colourful views, stunning natural habitat and being sited on the cliff top above Budleigh Salterton, makes this an idyllic place to enjoy a round of golf. 6344 yards of well drained fairways, well kept heathland turf and challenging greens offer a fair and interesting game. Excellent drainage facilitates resilience to adverse weather conditions and exceptional golf can be enjoyed through all seasons. There is a clubhouse, bar, lounge and restaurant, pro shop and golf academy. Practice facilities include two ranges, three short game areas which were designed with the development of all abilities in mind.

18 hole – Moorland Links Course

Teignmouth Golf Club has a heritage to be proud of and was opened in 1924. The course was designed by the renowned Dr Alister MacKenzie whose most famous work was the Augusta National, home of the US Masters. Near to the South Devon coast and, at 800 feet above sea level, its open outlook commands panoramic views of the coast and moors. Teignmouth golf clubs 18 hole moorland links course invites a challenge for players of all abilities. Notable features include a variety of six challenging par 3s and also 11 two-tier greens in true MacKenzie style.

Facilities include golf lessons, pro shop run by PGA qualified coaching staff, clubhouse (serving a popular Sunday roast), extensive practice facilities including indoor and outdoor nets, practice ground, putting green, two short game areas.

18 hole – Parkland Course

A thriving and traditional club founded in 1909, the course has steadily evolved to present a first class parkland layout, offering a testing but rewarding game of golf. Situated three miles from Torquay town centre with it’s stunning marina and harbour, the far reaching views from the course extend to Lyme Bay in the east spanning the water to Portland Bill, and Dartmoor to the west. Tree lined fairways with high quality greens create interest on each hole.

Visitors looking to test their skills are warmly welcomed and Torquay golf course is enjoyable for players of all abilities. Visitor green fees are available throughout the week and weekend.

Facilities include a clubhouse where you can eat and drink on the terrace overlooking the panoramic views of the 1st and 18th fairways, the golf shop, golf studio, academy with PGA qualified coaches. Visitors can book online Tee times.

18 hole – pitch & put

Considered one of the best Pitch and Putt approach courses in the South West, with breath-taking views of Teignmouth and the Teign Estuary. Fantastic par 3 course, 1543 yard, 18 holes of varying degrees of difficulty set in a beautiful location although steep in places the climb is worth it for the views alone. Parking is available next to the pay kiosk where you can also hire golf clubs.

18 hole – Parkland Course

Located on the edge of Newton Abbot, this peaceful and tranquil golf course is convenient having easy access from the A38 and M5 and is deemed to be one of the best parkland courses in the south west. Set in beautiful parkland and featuring a large variety of holes, elevation change, mature trees, streams and pretty ponds. Consisting of two loops of nine holes which both return to the clubhouse, the design of the 18 hole 5959 yards course off the back tees was influenced by “5 times British Open Champion – James Braid”.

It provides an easy walk through narrow tree lined fairways but contains mildly undulating greens, presenting fair yet testing golf for all levels of enthusiast. Facilities include a golf academy, the bar and restaurant serving amongst other things, the essential Devon cream tea, full English breakfast or burger and chips.Visitors may Book online Tee Times.

Located near Trago Mills retail park where there is also an amusement park with plenty for children to do.

18 Moorland Course

Teign Valley Championship Golf Course is set amidst rolling countryside on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, and is conveniently just minutes from the A38 which leads to the cathedral city of Exeter and the rural market town of Newton Abbot. The 18 hole course at just over 6000 yards (par 70) is fast-draining promoting the prospects of year round playability. Created to challenge the talented golfers without daunting beginners, the course nestles amongst natural features of ponds, streams and splendid trees making a scenic environment to enjoy. Facilities include bar, restaurant, PGA golf professional providing tuition if desired plus a golf shop.

Visitors can enjoy a welcome approach intended to challenge the more traditional golf clubs. Dainton Park opened its doors in the early 1990’s to anyone wishing to enjoy a social, healthy lifestyle, maturing into a challenging golf experience to suit all abilities. The professional coaches patiently introduce novice golfers to the game, while league teams succeed at county level.

Whilst boasting a covered and floodlit driving range, a teaching studio and a short game practice area, other facilities also include a gym, beauty therapist and physiotherapy service.
