Being set in the spectacular seaside location of Dawlish Warren on the coast of South Devon, with it’s protected Nature Reserve, there are many wonderfully scenic places to explore near Hazelwood Holiday Park such as Dartmoor National Park, The South West Coast Path, The Exe Estuary Trail, the Cathedral city of Exeter and the English Riviera of Torbay.
Peep Peep! All aboard the South Devon Railway for a ride behind Thomas. This extremely popular day out includes re-enactments of classic Thomas stories with Thomas and the Fat Controller, as well as a visit to the Buckfast Butterfly Farm and Dartmoor Otter Sanctuary, explore the Totnes Rare Breeds Farm, Vintage Bus Rides, Vintage Fairground Rides, Miniature Railway, and other Thomas and Friends themed activities. It’s recommended that tickets are purchased in advance to avoid disappointment.
A Halloween special. Dive deep into the world of weird and wonderful marine creatures, discovering more about nature with the help of a fun trail sheet, busting creepy myths, uncovering freaky facts and receiving a ghoulish prize at the end. Living Coast is an all weather attraction, with a famous penguin beach, stunning seals and beautiful bird species outside and a magical sea life aquarium and viewing tanks inside. Enjoy talks by the keepers and presenters, and stunning waterside views from the Café Bar.
Little witches and wizards will love the spooky adventures as they complete the Wild Potions Trail and discover the secret ingredients of the Witches Zoo Brew to get a creepy crawly prize. Watch the animals receive pumpkins and Halloween treats, plus special talks, face painting, and other activities. With over two thousand animals, outdoor and indoor play areas, and the Jungle Express Train you’re in for a really wild day out!
Halloween scenes around the gardens all day and a trail hunt (daylight only). However, the full spooky Halloween theme starts to come alive from dusk (late afternoon). The Spooky Maze is open in the evening Spookilluminations, Sound, Fire & Lighting effects creating an amazing spooky atmosphere after dark. The Workshop of Horrors Tour is the highlight of the eerie Halloween experience by lantern light, through the woods and past ‘abandoned’ haunted workshops then a chilling ghost story! Haunted House 4D theatre takes you on a 3D evening journey through an eerie haunted house with bone-rattling and spine-tingling special effects. Spaces on the Workshop of Horrors tour, and 4D Haunted House seats, need to be booked on arrival. Latest entry is 7.30pm, the park closes by 8.45pm.
Over sixty rides at this family theme park with live entertainment and animals galore. For half term a scary spell has been cast over the theme park and new attractions have been unearthed including the Halloween Glow, Jester’s 3D Fun Maze, and the Witches of the Wilderness! The infamous Creaky Hotel opens it’s haunted doors and there are free pumpkins for each child. Also featuring Singing Pumpkins, Pumpkin Carving, Buddy and Blossoms Scare Bear Show and on 26th and 27th October a fireworks extravaganza.
Take a spellbinding tour of nearby Powderham Castle with ghosts, ghouls and tales of spooky goings-on. Pumpkin carving from 20th to 25th of October. Powderham Castle is a picturesque country family home with over six hundred years of history, there is a farm shop, Toby Buckland garden centre, Orangery restaurant, set within an ancient deer park, beside the Exe Estuary .
Discover the Halloween horrors that have invaded Torquay’s Dinosaur World this half term and help save the dinosaurs from the ghastly ghosts and ghouls. Join the hunt to win a Dinosaur Expert Certificate and a prize of a 160 million year old fossil. After 3.30pm the Lights Out Torch Tour begins and tales are told of a scary dinosaur ghost.
