Hazelwood’s Easter holiday guide – don’t miss these eggciting events.

Our favourite local attractions are putting on an eggstravaganza of events this Easter and the holidays are set to be more action packed than ever! With so much to choice you are sure to have a cracking time. Read on for our round up of the ones you won’t want to miss.

Crealy Megga Week – Get tickets for just £15 this week.

6th-14th April

This family favourite theme park near Exeter has plenty of thrills from water rides to rollercoasters. Being an all-weather attraction, you can also enjoy indoor play areas that even include an inside rollercoaster among other rides.

Easter egg hunt 15th – 22nd of April

Hunt for all the hidden magical eggs around the theme park and tick them all off on your map, and at the last location a special chocolatey, very egg-ceptional prize awaits! Get 7 days of fun for the price of 1 during the Megga Easter event: Pay for a day and play all week! Just validate your ticket before leaving Crealy and you’ll be able to return for the next six days for no extra cost!

Woolly Week at Powderham Castle.

The Sheep Show 8th-22nd April

Displaying over 100 shows a year attracting audiences of 2.5 million people, the fantastic Sheep Show at Powderham Castle, just down the road from Hazelwood Holiday Park, is not to be missed. Entertaining commentary on each of the fantastic sheep with shearing demonstrations, there is even a Sheep Show Hustle! See the adorably cute spring lambs in the walled garden and join in the fun-filled trail through Powderham estate’s beautiful gardens for an eggciting family day out. All participation is included in your ticket price.

Exeter Racecourse

Junior Jumpers Day 9th April.

It’s a free race day for under 18s – perfect for something to do during the Easter school holidays. Junior Jumpers is Exeter racecourses dedicated club for younger race-goers. Gates open at 12.10 for the first race at 2.10pm, the last race is at 5.10pm. Includes behind-the-scenes tours, jockey question and answer sessions, meet a jockey, learn how to ride an equiciser, plus racing themed colouring in and rosette making!

Super Hero Family Fun Day 16th April

A super action packed time to be had: Gates open: 12.05pm, first race is at 2.05pm, the last race is at 5.35pm. Includes a behind the scenes tour, running races down the home straight, jockey question and answer sessions and superhero themed entertainment. Meet your favourite superhero, be a superhero on the high ropes activity course, be transformed into a superhero by the face painting team. One for all the family – the season opener on Easter Saturday 2019. Gates open 11.35am, first race is at 1.35pm, last race is at 5.00pm. All times are subject to change, please check the website before attending. Students and under 18s go free. There is no need to book a ticket online.

 

Miniature Pony Centre

Unicorn and Dragon Day 10th April.

Pony rides are being transformed for one day only, into Unicorns! Catch the magic whilst you can and meet the resident unicorns at the Unicorn & Dragon day, find dragon eggs on a treasure hunt, and have your hooves painted at the hoof bar! The Unibrights will be appearing at the miniature pony centre, joined by Sir Simon DeWinkleigh the bravest and boldest dragon hunter of them all. Join Sir Simon’s dragon hunters clan – if you are brave enough. Activities include combat training to prepare you to be a dragon hunter (including jousting, sword training and making a shield to protect from the dragons fiery breath)! You can even join the Unibright’s if you are kind, thoughtful and full of the giggles, and the Unibright princesses will bestow their magic powers to you with their glittering symbols.

My Little Pony Day 17th April

A day of sparkly My Little Pony themed fun, with added rainbows! Character appearances along with themed games and a trail – find the hidden My Little Pony characters to win your prize! Hoof bar and lanyard making. Pony rides and storytelling.

Easter Eggcelent Adventures 19th April

Easter fun (with maybe even a newborn foal) this Good Friday. Lot’s of Easter themed activities to entertain the family – the all important Easter Egg hunt with a prize. Fun arts and crafts activities on offer include Easter nest making. With daily pony rides, storytelling, pony herding and grooming. and entertainment by Dan the Hat at 3pm it’s going to be a fun packed Good Friday which is sure to leave you with that #fridayfeeling!

Eggsplore Babbacombe Model Village

Eggsplore miniature scenes and gardens and find the eggstremely hard to find hidden eggs at Babbacombe Model Village. It will be an eggscellent adventure. Children who find all 20 will get a chocolatey treat!  Also, pick up a free fun family activity leaflet.

Easter Fun at Canonteign Falls

6th to 25th April

Easter trails with prizes, find the Willow T-rex, craft workshops and lots more to do at Englands highest manmade waterfall. For energetic outdoor fun adventure play grounds, assault course, trampolines, zip wire, giant wooden galleon, duckling feeding, bug nature trail, children’s craft workshops as well as a visit from travelling children’s favourite, Elmer the elephant. After eggsploring the grounds and falls, visitors are welcome to rest and enjoy the views from the courtyard. Plenty of stunning spots to enjoy a picnic. Dogs are also welcome on leads both inside and out.

 

Killerton’s Easter Adventure

6th to 28th April

Bring your dog to bound around National Trust Killerton’s blossoming gardens on an Easter adventure. Choose from two trails eggsploring Killerton – learn about how trees are used to make lots of different things, or enjoy a dog ‘Woodland Welly walk’ whilst finding out about the wildlife that lives in trees (£2.50 per trail). A yummy Cadbury chocolate reward will be waiting for you afterwards. Normal admission applies.

 

Dawlish Easter Inflatables Eggstravaganza

13th to 14th April

Bouncy castles and slides inflatable theme park on the lawn in Dawlish town centre. Hook a duck, food and trampolines. Session times on each of the days are, 10:00am-12:00pm, 12:30pm-2:30pm and 3:00pm-5:00pm. Adults free entry. Under 5’s have a designated inflatable area, with a smaller bouncy castle and soft play. £6 per child with unlimited access to 10 large inflatables, a visit from Mickey and Minnie mouse and a free face paint.
