Half Term Holidays in South Devon by the Beach

What’s Happening during Half Term Holidays in Devon.

The Autumn Break is Bursting with Exciting Half-Term Holiday Events

Firstly, not to be missed, is the Halloween Show and Fancy Dress Parade, at Hazelwood Holiday Park Clubhouse on the 31st October. This year we even have two half term weeks in order to accommodate all our guests, whether your children’s school holiday begins on 20th or 27th October.

We still have some availability for the half term holidays – across a range of accommodation types, including dog friendly. It’s advisable to book now so that you don’t miss out on a fabulous family holiday, which doesn’t have to cost a bomb. Halloween Happenings near Hazelwood Holiday Park

With Hazelwood Holiday Park being located in Dawlish Warren on the beautiful South Devon Coast there is so much to see and do in the surrounding area that you’ll need this Visit South Devon guide to help you choose which places and Halloween events to visit. More attractions are likely to be added to the listing so it’s worth checking again as Halloween gets nearer. If your half term break doesn’t fall during Halloween then not to worry, you will not be disappointed with the array of ideas we have here for you. Like many families if you are feeling the pinch after the summer holidays, and with Christmas coming, then you will appreciate this fantastic guide to Fifty Free Things To Do.
The National Trust properties in the area have some fantastic events as well, located in beautiful autumn scenery. We also like the sound of this Spooky School theatre event at one of our favourite venues, Powderham Castle, which is just down the road from us.

The Cathedral City of Exeter

A short drive from Dawlish Warren and with lots of great shops, and a huge choice of restaurants too, the whole family will enjoy the Exeter experience. Attractions such as the Underground Passages, The rich history of the RAMM Museum (Fancy a Night at the Museum?)  and of course the Cathedral itself mean it’s always a winner whatever the weather. Pop in to the Cathedral to see the Big Lego Build , join in one of these family craft workshops or check out some of these events. How about a Red Coat Guided Tour? Meet outside the Cathedral on the evening of Wednesday 31st for a special Halloween Tour – Spooks and Broomsticks!

The English Riviera

A trip along the coast to Torquay is an absolute must this time of year. Take an unforgettable tour of the ancient underground caves at Kent’s Cavern and take part in the Ghost Show! This local attraction is a family favourite at Halloween due to the fun packed itinerary when you get there.

Also in Torquay is Babbacombe Model Village – it really goes to town with spooky illuminations, sound and fire effects, a workshop of horrors tour, a 4D haunted house and miniature Halloween characters.

As with all the events mentioned it’s advisable to book in advance where possible, to avoid disappointment.
