Steam train

Dartmouth Steam Railway and River Boat

Looking around the South West is so simple with Dartmouth Steam Railway and River Boats, with so many options to choose from when travelling its perfect for everyone. You can choose to get a steam train from Paignton along to Dartmouth, or get a Steam Train and cruise along the River Dart. If you fancy trying all modes of transport, you can get the steam train, a river boat, bus and ferry. This is a great day out for the family and you can even get off at each stop to explore and catch the next lift to the next stop!

Exeter Cathedral

If you are interested in the heritage and the history in Exeter we recommend going to Exeter Cathedral. One of the most beautiful cathedrals it is over 600 years old. At the Cathedral you can look through the library and have guided tours seeing the Great East Window, the vaulting and St James' Chapel and much more. Whilst you're in exeter there are some great shops you can visit and also experience the history of Exeter, looking at Gandy Street or the Underground Passages.

Powderham Castle

Powderham Castle is a great day out for all ages. There is history, a secret garden and even Jousting! Have a look around at one of the open days, or get a guided tour and learn the history behind the castle. Powderham also hosts a variety of events, from Woofstock Festival, to Yoga at the Castle and Historic Vehicle Gatherings. There is plenty to do and will definitely entertain you and your family.
